Journal articles are in PDF format and appear as they appear in the hard copy enabling users to take printouts of any article(s). This medIND database is available free of cost from http://medind.nic.in and can be searched either through the “browsing” or “searching” modes described below:
Browsing: Navigational aid allowing the user to browse from Alphabetical or Subject list of journals. Such hyper linked list leads to pages giving details of selected journals such as editors, instructions to authors, contact address, parent body etc. This in turn leads to listing of Issues of the Journal Years/Volume wise. Clicking on individual issue leads to Table of Contents of the selected Issue and further the Content Page has links to the individual articles.
Searching: The searching mode has been provided through the bibliographic database IndMED. Each record of the IndMED has a link to the actual article in the medIND site. These search boxes are provided on the medIND site enabling a cross database search. Thus the searching of the articles is possible from both the databases.
Links to e-journals' sites: Links are provided to existing e-journals' sites, which take the searcher directly to the journals' web pages.
